Leading with Grace: Employer Etiquette for Implementing Return-to-Work Policies

In 2024, many companies, such as JP Morgan, Citi Group,Disney, Goldman Sachs, IBM, and Tesla, have mandated a return-to-work policy.

Mandating a return-to-work policy benefits companies by fostering collaboration, innovation, and stronger team dynamics through face-to-face interactions. It reinforces company culture, boosts productivity, and facilitates employee development through on-site mentorship and training.

In-person work improves communication, strengthens client relationships, and maximizes the use of office infrastructure. It also promotes better work-life boundaries, social engagement, and compliance with data security and regulatory standards. Balancing these advantages with employee flexibility ensures a thriving and engaged workforce.

However, getting employees out of their comfort zone and back to the grind is the challenge. juggling traffic, baby sitting, grooming and work schedules.

My suggestion to the employers would be to take it slow and steady rather than going all in with a bang and making it so tough that they lose their crème de la crème.
